1. Methods and characteristics of process ( for example, L- lysine)
  L-lysine is mainly producted by microbiological fermentation. Fermentation usually use a variety of saccharified liquid from starch milk or molasses as carbon source, use ammonium salt and ammonia as nitrogen source, the PH value is basically remained neural, which is controlled by fed-batch ammonia and sugary liquor.
  Lysine fermentation is a typical metabolic controlled fermentation. By controlling the content, temperature, dissolved oxygen (ventilation quantity and stirring speed) and other conditions of biotin in the culture, can make bacteria prodused by L-lysine produce a large number of lysine, and make 65% - 70% of sugar in raw materials turn into L-lysine.
  Time of lysine fermentation not exceed 16 ~ 20h, may divide into the earlier period and the later period two stages. The earlier is a growth period, bacteria proliferates rapidly and a small amount of lysine is produced, consumption of sugar and nitrogen is mainly used for synthesis of cellular material and the supply energy metabolism of cells. The later is a generation period of lysine, the growth rate of cell is obviously slowed down, L-lysine accumulated a lot, consumption of sugar and nitrogen is mainly used for synthesis L-lysine.
2. Major equipment description
A. Fermenter, a device used for microbial fermentation. Its main body is cylinder, which is generally made of stainless steel, can withstand steam sterilization, with tight and reasonable structure, a certain operational flexibility, less internal accessories (to avoid dead ends), good material and energy transfer performance, and can be adjusted to facilitate cleaning and reduce pollution.
B. Ion exchanger, a device separates substances with different properties and simplifies the complex process. Can maintain the stability of the product composition and concentration in the feed liquid, effectively improve the purity and concentration of the liquid and save the cost of subsequent process.
C. Continuous crystallizer, the operation parameters are stable and the operation is easy to control. The granularity of crystal is stable, less mother liquor, high production intensity, energy saving and environmental protection.
D. The fluidizing dryer, the crystalline particles are dispersed in the hot air stream, flipped up and down, mixed with each other and collided, particles have a large contact area with stream, so the fluidizing dryer has a high heat transfer coefficient. Stream and particles in the fluidizing bed doing heat and mass transfer, greatly improve the drying efficiency.
